Facelift

Last month, Megan spilled milk on the piano bench. Since milk in a foam pad doesn't seem like something I want to be smelling in a few days, I decided it was time for a facelift.

The piano originally belonged to my grandparents, and when I inherited it, the bench cover was gold. It didn't exactly match my decor, so I recovered it. You can sort of tell what it looked like in the before picture--even though the fabric is just wrapped around the bench. I had already taken it off when I took the picture.

Here's the new bench. It's amazing what you can do without any sewing. I'm not sold on the fabric, but at least it's easy to change!

The best part? 2 inch foam is really expensive, but since my piece had some holes in it, I got it for 75% off! Yeah! (And I ended up cutting off the piece with the holes!)
