Easter Fun 2011

Here's a marathon Easter post with tons of pics!  Let's see if I can at least get the events in order.

The fun began with Lacie's egg hunt.  Her friend Aspen invited about twenty kids to a hunt a her backyard.  It was so fun!  (I got to chat with the moms, so I enjoyed it, too!)

(Apparently it took Lacie a minute to remember that she had a bucket in her hand.)

Next came Megan's kindergarten picnic and egg hunt.

Lacie got to dress like a bunny in preschool.  (She left her nose on all day.)

The Donahoos came for a visit, and we all took off on an adventure to find a hidden sand dune that is steep enough to allow sledding.  After wandering the mountains for an hour or so, we gave up and went to the regular dunes.

Here's cousin Rachel and her "Mini Me."

The kids had a great time rolling . . .

Sledding (we had to pull the sled) . . .

Digging deep holes (Lacie pretended the hole was a giant mixing bowl and spent a good half hour preparing a cake for us) . . .

Making sand angels . . .

Practicing writing . . .

And getting really dirty!

Maybe we'll find the steep sand dune another day.

Saturday night we decorated eggs with the Boones.  We almost forgot to decorate!  We tried a new type of dye.  You put one egg in a bag, squirt it with a creamy paint, and rub the paint on the egg.  It was super fast and not too messy, but that kind of took the fun out of it!  It was over way too quickly.''

Sunday morning the kids were happy to discover that the Easter Bunny found our house.  They were a little confused, though, when their baskets were almost empty.  The Easter Bunny left them cards with different colored eggs on each card.  They turned out to be instructions to find their goodies.  Now that we have grass, I guess he decided it was time to start hiding things outside!  That was a first, and the kids loved it.  (Sorry so many pics, but I love to see them finding the eggs.)

Here are the girls in their Easter dresses (last year's dresses). It's a shame that we didn't get a picture of Lacie's feet. She chose a pair of socks with Minnie Mouse pompoms sticking out the back to go with her dress shoes!

Happy Easter!
