Time to Catch Up

I've been working on a design project and really neglecting my blog.  Yep.  It's still Christmas on my blog!  I just found an unfinished scrapbook page from early December!  I'll post it and then try to catch up a little.

One of the first weekends in December, we made an unscheduled trip to California to see the Donahoos.  Jenny is in charge of their Community Christmas Celebration, and we decided at the last minute to check it out.  Since the planning consumed her life for months, we thought it might be worth seeing . . . and it was!  The whole thing was fantastic.  It was sponsored/organized by the LDS church, but churches from the entire community participated.  It started out as a display of nativity scenes (creches) from around the world, and snowballed into a huge event including musical performances, a live nativity, a children's activity room, and a dress-up room.  We loved it!

We didn't get any great pictures of Jenny, but you can see by the smile on her face (through the blurry picture) that the event was a great success!

The displays looked as if they had been set up by professionals.  (I guess after preparing for this event for so many years, many of the designers are "professional" by now!)

Nicole, Rachel, and Brad each got to participate in the live nativity.  Here's Nicole . . .

. . . and Brad and Rachel.

We missed seeing Drew sing in a choir.

I think the dress-up room was the girls' favorite!  They sure had great clothes to try on.

The next day, Drew and Rachel created these awesome hammocks for the girls on the tramp.

We had a great time, and we're really glad we made the trip. Jenny, the event was spectacular! You and your committee did a great job.
